Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician Millwright will be essential in keeping the sawmill machinery running smoothly for operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general machine set-up, troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and preventative maintenance; Inspect and service equipment as needed and perform all planned maintenance procedures at the sawmill.
  • Troubleshoot and service mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; Use planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Operate rigging equipment and use dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
  • Maintain and set up machinery to maximize uptime.
  • Complete all work orders in a timely manner as required.
  • Utilize equipment manuals and schematic drawings; Translate blueprints into fabricated parts.
  • Use cutting tools, various welding methods to fabricate and repair equipment.
  • Help stock and maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
  • Work safely, constantly monitoring the hazardous conditions and risks present in the immediate area; Understand and follow all formal safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
