Job Summary: Join this high impact team as a Network Engineer (P2) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our Raytheon locations. The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidate must have a background supporting networks at an advanced level. This role is located in Andover, MA, and will be onsite at our facilities to work in classified computing areas and may require occasional travel to other local and US Domestic locations as necessary. Relocation support is provided for the applicant if they qualify per company policy.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new documentation will be created.

  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.

  • Network designs that include selection of hardware and software packages, hierarchical architecture, and geographical limitations.

  • Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.

  • Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.

  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.

  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Role typically Requires a bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience in Network Engineering/Technology roles, or Associates with 4 years’ experience. In lieu of degree, 6 years of relevant experience in IT/Network Engineering will be considered.

  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: .

  • Experience with authentication servers, and intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.

  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.

  • Experience with network architecture design and development.

  • Experience with network management software.

  • Experience with access control lists, security posture and vendor pest practices.

  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.

  • Experience with project management and team leadership and development.

  • Experience with project management and team leadership and development.

  • Experience with platforms such as Cisco Call Manager, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds.

  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.

  • Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification within a year.

  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.

  • Ability to work under time constraints.

  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.

  • Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
